What is your brand's philosophy?
(De)materializing the aesthetic in the material wear. We believe in the spirit of circularity and regenerative lifestyle therefore using art to tell the many ways from which the impact of our clothing practices can become as positive as possible in our identity and representation.

The Slum Studio is founded and creative directed by Ghanaian artist Sel Kofiga. As a multifaceted research and analytical brand interested in the politics of clothing, we are community collaborative conscious. We work with a diverse group of people including fashion designers, photographers, resellers and cultural workers who together bring out a colorful way of telling and presenting our own stories. 
Where are your products designed?
From a small in house studio in Accra, Ghana 
What materials do you use? Where are your raw materials made? 
We use offcut and used fabrics from kaliko, khaki, rayon and hemp from second hand clothing markets in Accra. These fabrics are sent to places like Ghana from Europe and many Westerns country as used clothing. Our suppliers are experienced textile resellers from Kantamanto market. Accra. 
Where are your final products made? 
Our final products are designed and made with our in house collaborator and fashion designer called Michael Agbeko (Founder of Natural Tailoring Shop) in Accra

Batchelor of Arts, Sociology 
What are you most proud of as a brand?
Community collaboration and the power of art 
What is your vision for the fashion/homeware/art industry in the future?
I look forward to seeing an industry that is interested in post-wear and the effect of overconsumption. This will allow us to rethink system design and the importance change making
